You don’t need any fancy tools to get this done. There is no need to go to a shoe store every 3 months. You could do this from home! (Yes, we know some stores tell you that you have to come in for a measure – that’s just a way for them to get you in the store!)

Here’s the most accurate way to measure your child’s feet:

  1. Take a piece of paper and have your child stand on top of it.
  2. Mark the outermost points of the feet (heel and end of big toe)
  3. Measure the length with a ruler
  4. Match your measurement to the chart above for the shoe size. For example, if the length of your child’s foot is 4 inches, then your child’s shoe size is European 18 and US 2.5.
  5. Measure both feet. If one foot is larger than the other, choose the larger of the two sizes.

Tip from Experienced Parents:

  1. Don’t try to make your dollar go further by buying the next size up. Your child could trip on the extra length of the shoe. You should view your shoe buying as a 3-6 month investment. If they last longer, then great!
  2. Measure your child’s feet every 3 months. They have growth spurts every now and then. You don’t want your child to be uncomfortable. They usually won’t know how to tell you that their shoes hurt when they are very young.

If you're purchasing a shoe from us and not sure of the size, just include the measurement of your child's feet on the comments section and we'll figure out the size for you.
